Arbor Day at Sycolin Creek Elementary School in Leesburg

Arbor Day at Sycolin Creek Elementary School in Leesburg

Some students at Sycolin Creek Elementary in Leesburg helped to celebrate Arbor Day by planting two Kwanzan Cherry Trees in the front of the school on Friday, April 29th.

The trees were donated and planted by Sunrise landscape + design.  The owner’s children attend Sycolin Creek Elementary School, and each year, Joe Markell and his children---older brother Dillon and twins, Alyssa and Russell---use Arbor Day as a fun occasion to share an important message with classmates: give back to the community and also to the earth.

Pictured are students in Mrs. Gore’s first grade class, along with Sharon Keegan-Coppels, Principal of Sycolin Creek Elementary School.
