The Dandelion Patch Opens its Third Area Location at Village at Leesburg

The Dandelion Patch, a 16-year-old fine stationery store, announced the opening of its Leesburg location today. The Village at Leesburg locale is the fourth store in the company’s continued expansion, with its first locations in Vienna and Reston, Virginia and Georgetown in Washington DC, respectively.

Smart Markets to Continue Through October 29

Smart Markets Inc., founded in early 2008 by Jean Janssen, is the newest group of farmer’s markets to the Northern Virginia area. Janssen herself has been a resident of Northern Virginia for 25 years. These markets serve Centreville, Fairfax Corner, Gainesville, Herndon, Oakton and Reston and provide guaranteed producer-only farmers’ markets.

Local Car Company Sets All-Time Sales Record

Volkswagen of America, Inc. is headquartered right in our hometown of Herndon, VA. They reported today, a July 2010 sales of 23,880 units (that’s a 16% increase from last year!). It also marked the 13th consecutive month of sales growth for the company.

July was the best sales month for Volkswagen since December 2005. Volkswagen sells a variety of vehicles from the Eos, Golf, New Beetle convertible, New Beetle, Passat, Jetta, GTI, Jetta SportWagen, Passat Wagan, CC, Tiguan, Touareg, and the Routan. The Volkswagen CC, Jetta, Golf, Routan, and Tiguan all showed outstanding records for the past month and it looks like the company’s growth strategy is making solid strides.
