HERNDON, Va. (WUSA) -- In April, three horses used to help kids with special needs were stabbed at the Frying Pan Farm Park's Equestrian Facilities in Herndon. Now, those recovering horses will get free eye exams.
The Spirit Program by the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists will examine the horses on Friday at Frying Pan Park.
According to Brian Wilson who works with an emergency and specialty hospital in Vienna, Va. teams will be checking for eye conditions and diseases such as cloudy corneas, retinal disease, and early cataracts to make sure the horses can continue to serve well in their jobs.
