From the Herndon Leo Club:

Herndon, VA -- A new Leo club came to Herndon on Friday, January 27th, 2012 when 16 charter members celebrate the organization of their new Herndon Leo Club at The Herndon Neighborhood Resource Center at 6:30pm.   The Reston Lions Club sponsored the new club for young people of the Herndon Schools and community.

Club President Jessica Horting of Herndon has been elected to serve as the first president of the new club, and Emily Evans of Herndon will serve as the first club secretary. The  Leo Club plans to become involved with Eye glass recycling, Sight and Hear screening, local food drives, Vision Walk, and Lion of Virginia Youth Camp.

According to Jessica Horting, club president, “We are excited to give back to our community. Through this important work, we plan to make a difference in our community.”

The Herndon Leo Club will meet on 1st and 3rd Friday at 4:30 at The Herndon Neighborhood Resource Center. Lion Jim Ryan is the current Leo club advisor. Young people, in High School who would like more information about the Herndon Leo Club can contact the Herndon Community Leo Club through Facebook or email HerndonLeo@gmail.com.
