Come to The Farm For Summer Concert Fun

From Fairfax County:

The young and young at heart will be treated to science they can sing to when Ryan Buckle & Friends take the stage at Frying Pan Farm Park on Wednesday, July 27, 2011. Combining great music with amazing science experiments, Buckle & Friends inspire curious children with one of the D.C. area’s best new kids’ shows. The one-hour show starts at 10 a.m. and admission is free.

Buckle’s quirky and fun music highlights the discoveries kids can make at the zoo. And audiences of all ages will be amazed by Zelda the Zookeeper’s floating smoke rings, gigantic bubbles, electric circles, and other amazing experiments. Each of the songs is based on curriculum developed by Curiosity Zone, an award-winning science center for young children located in Ashburn, Va.

There's No Such Thing as a Free...Game?

There's No Such Thing as a Free...Game?

There may be no such thing as a free game of pickup soccer in Fairfax County after a new permit policy is put in place.  Previously, permits were only required for groups of 20 or more players. The new policy, which was approved earlier this week, requires groups of 20 or more to submit a $5.50 fee for each participant, including spectators.

Local soccer players like Danny Arnez and Greg Pedersen, who play at noon daily at Pentagon City’s Virginia Highlands Park did not know about the change and were not pleased after learning about it.
